boom. roasted.
vegetable of the day/day 2

I always get worried when I order “vegetable of the day” because it’s usually vegetable mush covered in butter.  Tonight, I ordered the vegetable of the day along with a baked potato (because I was starvingggg) and a salad.  It was amazing!  The green beans were steamed and perfect.  The salad had artichokes, olives, tomatoes, and feta.  Honestly, the potato wasn’t great but I ate most of it anyway.  Day 2 dinner = success.

My class was really cool today.  I learned a lot!  I can’t wait to get the program and start playing around on my own with it.  My instructor is awesome.  She is so friendly and outgoing and really knows what she’s doing.  (Sidenote: I was the ONLY mac user in the class but the instructor was using a mac too so…BOOYAH)  Everyone was so helpful!  I got a little confused when I was searching for lunch, but some nice lady helped me out.  Chicagoians…Chicagoites…Chicagoers (?) are the best.

I’m in class from 9-4ish and we get a morning break (for more coffee!), an hour for lunch, and an afternoon break.  The perfect schedule for me.  For lunch, I walked to a Greek joint and had a salad with more feta along with a cup of lemon chicken and rice soup, which was so delicious…and free!  I would have never ordered it if it hadn’t come with my salad but I’m so glad it did.  It was the best thing I ate all day.  Isn’t that always the case?  I bet we miss out on a lot of things this way.

I’m not big on eating out alone but it’s not so bad when you’re forced to do it.  Plus, I don’t know anybody here.  My server was sooo nice too.  I love the people here!

The hotel staff here is great too.  My check-in guy was super funny and made me feel at home.  The manager remembers my name and cracked a joke about drinking my little wine bottle with a straw AKA he’s my kind of dude!
